What You’ll Be Doing
As a Project Forwarder, you’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end logistics for complex shipments, including high-value or out-of-gauge cargo. You’ll coordinate across various transport modes to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of project cargo worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project shipments via air, sea, and road, often involving abnormal loads or specialist equipment
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and overseas agents to arrange transport solutions tailored to project requirements
- Handle all relevant documentation, including customs clearance, transport permits, and shipping manifests
- Monitor shipments closely to ensure on-time delivery and proactively manage any issues
- Use freight forwarding and tracking software to manage the logistics process
- Work closely with internal departments to maintain a high standard of customer service and operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with strong logistical experience, ideally in project forwarding or handling specialist cargo. You should be detail-oriented, proactive, and confident communicating with clients and stakeholders across the globe.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience with a UK-based freight forwarder
- Background in project forwarding or managing complex freight operations
- Knowledge of import/export documentation and customs procedures
- Ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines with efficiency
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Familiarity with freight software systems; CDS knowledge is advantageous
- Experience with Dangerous Goods is beneficial, but not essential
