Ocean Export Operator Oldbury, West Midlands £32,000-£38,000, depending on experience ⏰ Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Ocean Export Operator to join an established and respected logistics business in Oldbury. You will become part of a friendly and experienced forwarding team, managing deep-sea export shipments for a growing international customer base. This is a varied, hands-on position offering stability, professional development and the opportunity to take ownership of shipments from booking through to completion. You will also have access to CargoWise One e-learning, with the opportunity to work towards recognised CargoWise accreditation. What makes this opportunity attractive? Your responsibilities will include: Managing deep-sea ocean export shipments from booking through to delivery Making bookings with shipping lines and overseas agents Preparing and checking export documentation Completing bills of lading and shipping instructions Liaising with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, suppliers and overseas agents Arranging collections and monitoring shipments against agreed schedules Providing customers with regular shipment updates Ensuring documentation is completed accurately and on time Completing operational files, invoicing and profit and loss checks Investigating and resolving invoice queries Maintaining accurate records within CargoWise One Following AEO procedures and internal operating standards Supporting colleagues and providing holiday cover when required Contributing to the continued growth and success of the operation What we are looking for This opportunity would suit an experienced Ocean Export Operator who understands freight forwarding procedures and is confident managing shipments independently. You should have: Previous ocean export freight forwarding experience A good understanding of deep-sea export procedures Experience managing shipments from start to finish Knowledge of export documentation and bills of lading Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence communicating with customers, shipping lines and overseas agents Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Office A positive, proactive and customer-focused approach The ability to manage your own workload while contributing to a supportive team CargoWise One experience would be beneficial, although it is not essential This is a strong opportunity for an Ocean Export Operator who wants to join a stable and growing business, develop their forwarding knowledge and become part of a supportive team in which their work will be valued.
