We are recruiting for an experienced Export Freight Forwarder to join a busy freight forwarding team based in Oldbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in export operations who enjoys managing bookings, liaising with suppliers and customers, and working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The successful candidate will have previous freight forwarding experience, ideally covering sea and air freight exports, and will be confident handling FCL, LCL and air freight shipments from booking through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, process and manage multiple incoming export bookings from a range of customers within agreed timeframes.
  • Handle worldwide sea and air freight exports, including FCL, LCL and air freight shipments.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, consolidators, air freight agents, suppliers and customers.
  • Input new bookings accurately into the company booking platform, Box Top.
  • Send booking confirmations to suppliers and clients.
  • Manage job tracking and provide regular customer updates throughout the shipment process.
  • Resolve operational issues including haulage delays, vessel details and sourcing alternative options where required.
  • Ensure all jobs are closed correctly once completed to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain high levels of data quality and accuracy across the company's bespoke systems.
  • Work in line with company standards, guidelines and operational procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within the freight forwarding sector.
  • Previous experience handling export bookings and operations.
  • Experience with sea freight exports, air freight exports, FCL and LCL would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport over the phone.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow agreed company guidelines and policies.
  • A team player who can work effectively in a fast-paced and exciting environment.
  • A structured and accurate approach to daily workload.

  • Salary up to £35,000.
