Location: Wythenshawe

Hours: Mon - Fri 9:00 - 17:30 (Flexible)

Hybrid working: 2 days from home, 3 office-based

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (Negotiable)

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full sea freight import process, from origin to final delivery
  • Liaise with global offices and agents to ensure smooth coordination of shipments
  • Negotiate rates with suppliers to deliver best-value solutions for clients
  • Select appropriate contracts and carriers to suit individual customer needs
  • Provide competitive quotations and monitor market trends
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with clients throughout the shipment lifecycle
  • Ensure accurate documentation to support customs clearance
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with hauliers and suppliers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve delays or shipment issues as they arise
  • Manage invoicing and cost control to ensure accurate margin tracking
  • Join client visits alongside the sales team to build long-term relationships
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in ocean imports within freight forwarding
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end import processes, including customs procedures
  • Confident in negotiating rates and selecting suitable carriers
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple shipments at once
  • A proactive problem-solver who can remain calm under pressure
  • Comfortable working with freight management systems and Microsoft Office
