We are currently recruiting on behalf of a global freight forwarding and supply chain provider, who are looking to appoint an experienced Export Operator to join their growing operations team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a freight professional with hands-on experience in EU road and ocean freight exports to join a well-established, internationally recognised logistics business offering stability, progression, and exposure to global trade lanes.

The Role

As an Export Operator, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end export operations across European road freight and ocean freight (FCL & LCL) shipments. You will play a key role in ensuring shipments are processed efficiently, compliantly, and in line with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage export shipments from booking through to final departure for road and ocean freight.
  • Handle export documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and export customs paperwork.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customers to coordinate shipments.
  • Arrange and monitor European road freight exports.
  • Ensure all export processes comply with HMRC regulations and international trade requirements.
  • Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure service levels and deadlines are met.
  • Accurately cost, rate, and invoice export files in line with agreed tariffs.

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding export operations (essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of road and ocean freight exports.
  • Experience handling export documentation and customs procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with international stakeholders.
