Are you an experienced Freight Forwarder looking for your next challenge with a well‑established and growing international logistics business? I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected freight forwarding company based in the Wakefield area, who are looking to add an experienced Multi‑Modal Freight Operator to their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and professional environment where you’ll be responsible for managing international import and export shipments from door to door across sea, air, and road freight.

The Role

As a Multi‑Modal Freight Operator, you’ll be responsible for overseeing shipments throughout the entire transport cycle, ensuring customers receive a high‑quality and efficient service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery.
  • Coordinating sea, air, and road freight movements.
  • Liaising with overseas agents, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines, and customers.
  • Preparing and checking shipping and customs documentation.
  • Arranging collections, deliveries, and customs clearances.
  • Providing proactive shipment updates and resolving any operational issues.
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Ensuring all shipments are handled compliantly and cost‑effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within freight forwarding operations.
  • Knowledge of import and export procedures.
  • Experience across sea freight, air freight, road freight, or a combination of all three.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
