We're recruiting a Customs Clearance Operator to join one of our clients based out of Burntwood. This is a great opportunity for someone with customs knowledge looking to develop their career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process import and export customs clearances across air, sea and road freight
- Complete and submit declarations accurately and within required timeframes
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment processing
- Check and manage all required customs documentation, resolving any issues
- Calculate duties and taxes and ensure timely clearance of shipments
- Provide regular updates and excellent service to customers
- Manage shared inbox enquiries efficiently as part of the team
Requirements
- Previous experience in customs clearance (imports/exports) for a UK based freight forwarder
- Good understanding of UK/EU customs procedures and documentation
- Familiarity with systems such as CDS, NCTS or Destin8 is advantageous
- Knowledge of Incoterms and the freight industry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
