The Role
You will be responsible for identifying and winning new freight forwarding business across Yorkshire and the wider region. Your responsibilities will include:
- Winning new customers across road, sea and air freight
- Identifying and developing new sales opportunities
- Managing your own diary, appointments and sales pipeline
- Attending customer meetings and presenting tailored freight solutions
- Building strong relationships with decision-makers
- Preparing quotations and negotiating commercial agreements
- Working closely with operations to ensure a smooth customer handover
- Developing accounts to maximise long-term revenue and profitability
- Maintaining accurate sales activity and pipeline information
- Representing the business at networking events and industry meetings
About You
You will ideally have:
- Previous freight forwarding sales experience
- A strong understanding of road, sea or air freight
- A proven ability to generate leads and win new business
- Existing relationships within the Yorkshire market
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- A commercially focused and self-motivated approach
- The confidence to manage your own territory and diary
- A full UK driving licence
