I'm currently partnering with a rapidly growing logistics and freight forwarding business that is looking to appoint an experienced Freight Business Development Manager to support its ambitious growth plans across the UK. The Role

As Freight Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new freight forwarding opportunities across Ocean, Air, Road and Multi modal services. You will target importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and eCommerce businesses, building long-term relationships and delivering tailored logistics solutions that add genuine value to customers' supply chains.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating new business opportunities across freight forwarding services
  • Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to implementation
  • Developing relationships with key decision-makers
  • Conducting customer meetings both virtually and face-to-face
  • Producing freight proposals and commercial quotations
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts
  • Identifying opportunities for cross-selling and account growth
  • Maintaining a healthy sales pipeline and accurate CRM records
  • Achieving and exceeding agreed revenue and gross profit targets

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven freight forwarding sales experience
  • Strong knowledge of Ocean and/or Air services
  • A track record of winning new business within the logistics sector
  • Experience selling international freight solutions
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
