Our client, a well-established and growing international logistics business based in Wythenshawe, is looking to recruit a Junior Freight Coordinator to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within freight forwarding and logistics. The role would be particularly well suited to candidates who have recently completed a Freight Forwarding or Logistics apprenticeship, or those who have gained some initial experience within freight, shipping, transport, or supply chain operations. Full training and ongoing development will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their knowledge of international freight movements.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced operations team, you will support the coordination of freight shipments, with a primary focus on road freight operations and some involvement in air export shipments. You will be responsible for assisting with the movement of goods from collection through to final delivery, ensuring customers receive a high level of service throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the coordination of UK and European road freight shipments
  • Supporting air export operations where required
  • Liaising with customers, carriers, hauliers, and overseas partners
  • Preparing and processing shipment documentation
  • Tracking shipments and providing updates to customers

About You

To be considered for this position, you should have some exposure to the logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or transport industry. We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who:

  • Have recently completed a Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Supply Chain apprenticeship
  • Have gained 6-24 months' experience within freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or transport operations
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Are eager to learn and develop within the freight industry
  • Can work effectively in a fast-paced environment
