Position: Internal Business Development Manager Location: Southampton Salary: Up to £50,000 Hours: Office based, Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:30 Are you a commercially minded freight professional with a passion for sea freight and the marine industry? We\’re seeking an experienced Internal Business Development Manager to join a growing logistics team in Southampton, specialising in tailored freight solutions for the yacht and marine sectors. This role is 100% office-based – no time on the road – and is ideal for someone with deep industry knowledge who excels at building strong commercial relationships and driving growth from within. What You\’ll Be Doing as an Internal Business Development Manager: Nurturing relationships with a wide portfolio of clients, offering high-quality freight solutions tailored to their needs. Identifying and pursuing new opportunities across existing accounts and dealing with inbound and outbound enquiries to support business growth. Acting as a key contact for strategic client development, representing the business professionally and proactively in the marine logistics market. Driving growth across short-sea and deep-sea trade routes, with a strong focus on container and Ro/Ro movements. Collaborating with operations and management teams to ensure a seamless handover from business development to execution. Attending industry trade shows, in the UK and abroad, being the face of the company and attracting new clientele What We\’re Looking For: Proven experience in business development, account management, or route growth within freight forwarding or shipping . Solid understanding of y acht & marine logistics , shipping, Ro/Ro operations, and global trade lanes. Background working with UK, European, or international freight markets. A proactive mindset with the ability to identify commercial opportunities and turn them into long-term partnerships. Must have previous experience working for a UK-based freight forwarder or shipping company. A full, clean UK driving licence is desirable for future flexibility, though not required for this role.
