This role is predominantly focused on ocean imports (approximately 95%), managing shipments primarily from China, India and South Asia.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing import shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a seamless, efficient service throughout the entire process. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the complete import process from booking through to final delivery.
- Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents and partners.
- Creating and managing jobs on the internal operating system.
- Liaising with customers to obtain all required shipping documentation.
- Preparing documentation for customs clearance.
- Coordinating deliveries with transport providers.
- Communicating with customers, agents and suppliers throughout each shipment.
- Raising invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all shipments are completed efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a freight forwarding operations environment.
- Previous experience handling ocean import shipments from start to finish.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- A proactive approach and excellent attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Experience using the CDS customs system.
- The ability to complete customs entries.
