They are an award-winning freight forwarding business who evokes passion into every aspect of their business and are proud to have built dynamic teams across all of their branches. Due to increased demand and high volumes, we now seek to appoint an experienced Import Customs Clearance Operator to join our team in Witham, Essex. Job purpose: Responsible for the day-to-day completion of the customs clearance process for imports. Responsibilities: Work part of a team reporting to a Customs Team Leader / Manager Signing/completion of customs documents under a Power of Attorney on behalf of clients Recognise client commercial invoice(s) and packing list(s) extracting data as necessary to complete import declarations Liaising with importers (possibly exporters) and internal operational colleagues to obtain mandatory information for import entries Entering details onto specialised Customs software including Destin8, Sequoia, Descartes etc allowing goods to enter the UK and deliver to consignees Be fully conversant with CDS, NCTS, GVMS, IPAFFS and other regulatory platforms Allocating the correct licences depending on type of goods being imported Calculation and processin…
