A well-established transport and logistics business is looking to add a Transport Planner to its Portsmouth operation. This is a hands-on planning role within a busy, mixed-fleet environment, covering a blend of general freight movements alongside pallet network activity when required.

You'll be responsible for keeping vehicles moving efficiently, balancing in-house fleet utilisation with third-party hauliers, and ensuring service levels are consistently met.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and managing daily delivery and collection plans across the UK
  • Scheduling and routing drivers for maximum efficiency and cost control
  • Coordinating movements across a mixed fleet and approved subcontractors
  • Ensuring compliance with WTD, tachograph and DVSA regulations
  • Handling day-to-day driver issues, including infringements, incidents and investigations
  • Supporting compliance and operational planning alongside the Transport Manager
  • Using third-party hauliers where needed to protect service levels and revenue
