An established international logistics provider in Bradford is entering an exciting phase of operational growth and is now seeking a seasoned European Road Freight professional to take ownership of their EU road function. This appointment will suit a confident people manager who enjoys being close to the operation, leading from the front and shaping a team to deliver consistently high service across key European corridors.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a European road freight team (circa 6-8 operators)
- Oversee traffic movements across core EU territories, with a strong focus on Germany, France, and wider European lanes
- Ensure planning, execution, and issue resolution are handled efficiently and in line with service expectations
- Act as the senior operational contact for escalations, delays, and service challenges
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with European agents, hauliers, and strategic partners
- Develop team members through structured support, coaching, and performance oversight
- Champion operational standards, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience Required
- Demonstrable background in European road freight forwarding, with hands-on exposure to German and French movements - ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management capacity within a forwarding or transport environment
- Strong working knowledge of European road networks and partner management
- Comfortable managing workload distribution, KPIs, and operational priorities
- Pragmatic, commercially aware, and solutions-driven
- Happy to operate in a fully office-based role
