Are you an ambitious Retail Media, Commercial or Digital Media leader ready to build something from the ground up? This is a rare opportunity to create, lead and scale a brand-new Retail Media business within a large, successful, family-owned multinational organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, you'll have genuine ownership of a high-profile new business unit, with responsibility for building the commercial model, developing supplier partnerships, leading a specialist team and turning an initial concept into a nationally scaled, high-margin revenue stream.
The opportunity
This is much more than an established Retail Media management role. You'll be joining at the beginning of the journey and have the opportunity to shape the strategy, build the team, establish the proposition and define how Retail Media operates across the business. You'll take the initiative from pilot and proof-of-concept through to national rollout, working with major FMCG brands and senior stakeholders to unlock significant incremental supplier-funded revenue.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building and executing the Retail Media commercial strategy
- Owning revenue targets, P&L performance and commercial growth
- Developing a strong pipeline of FMCG supplier partnerships
- Creating compelling Retail Media propositions and media packages
- Leading pilots, proof-of-concepts and the national rollout programme
- Building and managing a specialist Retail Media team
- Maximising revenue from digital and physical media inventory
- Developing strategies to optimise utilisation of media assets
- Building strong relationships with major FMCG brands and suppliers
- Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Trading, Retail, IT, Operations and Finance
- Using data and insight to demonstrate media value and drive investment
- Establishing the processes, capability and commercial foundations for long-term growth
What you’ll bring
We're looking for a commercially ambitious leader with experience across Retail Media, Digital Media, Grocery, FMCG or a related commercial environment. You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven experience building, launching or scaling a new commercial function, business unit or capability
- Strong commercial leadership and P&L experience
- Experience negotiating with suppliers, brands and commercial partners
- Strong understanding of Retail Media and/or digital media propositions
- Experience developing Joint Business Plans and strategic partnerships
- The ability to turn an entrepreneurial concept into a structured, scalable operation
- Strong programme and project management skills
- Experience recruiting, coaching and developing specialist teams
- Excellent data, analytical and commercial decision-making skills
- The confidence and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
- A genuine entrepreneurial mindset and appetite to build something new
Why join?
This is a build-from-scratch opportunity. You won't simply inherit an existing Retail Media operation—you’ll have the opportunity to create it. You'll have direct exposure to the Head of Marketing and senior leadership, with the freedom to shape the commercial proposition, build your team and establish a new revenue stream across a substantial UK retail and wholesale business. You'll be working with major FMCG brands and suppliers, giving you the opportunity to develop high-value partnerships while creating a capability with significant long-term growth potential. You'll join an established and growing international organisation with a strong family-owned heritage, diverse business interests and operations across the UK and internationally. If you're someone who thrives on building, influencing, negotiating and turning ideas into commercial reality, this could be an exceptional next step.
The package
70,000- 75,000 salary Plus: 30 days' total holiday including bank holidays, Private Medical, Pension, Life Assurance, Onsite parking
Location: Park Royal, North West London
