Shift Chemist - Grays (£36,000 - £38,000 + Bonus & Overtime)
We are currently recruiting for a Shift Chemist to join a rapidly growing waste management and treatment business based in Grays.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that has doubled in size in recent years and is now expanding into waste treatment operations, offering excellent long-term career prospects.
The Role
Working as part of the operations team, you will support the safe and efficient handling, assessment, and processing of waste materials on site. This is a shift-based role, operating between 8am - 8pm, with a rotating pattern:
- Week1: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Week2: 11:00am – 8:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and classify incoming waste materials
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Support site operations and waste processing activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient site performance
About You
- Degree qualified in Chemistry or a related scientific field
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Interest in waste management, environmental services, or industrial operations
- Able to work a rotating shift pattern
- No prior industry experience required – full training will be provided for the right candidate
