Freight Forwarder Location: Basildon Office Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience) Our client, who are a known Freight Forwarder are seeking a motivated and reliable Freight Forwarder to join their Freight Forwarding team based out of Basildon. You will play a key role in supporting the Customer Services & Freight Forwarding Manager in ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for logistics and customer service to contribute to the company's growth. Key Responsibilities: Support the Head of Customer Services in driving business development and enhancing customer satisfaction. Ensure accurate customer bookings are recorded in the operations system. Maintain regular communication with the sales team regarding new leads and shipment handovers. Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the department. Provide quotations to the line manager/sales team within two hours of receipt and ensure they are recorded in the system. Collaborate with the line manager to implement efficiencies in customer workflows. Handle key accounts and manage customer enquiries promptly. Enter spot quotations into the CRM system and follow up on enquiries as needed. Address customer complaints in accordance with SOPs and within the agreed timeframe. Assist the Credit Control team in the collection of overdue payments. Complete customer due diligence checks for new clients. Promote high standards of personal quality, health & safety, and professionalism. Ensure compliance with financial transaction policies, legal requirements, and good practice guidelines. Oversee customer and subcontractor management according to company procedures. Provide customers with accurate, cost-effective quotations within a timely manner. Confirm quotations with customers via phone within half an hour. Book consignments with third-party contractors and manage cross-trade bookings. Book deliveries with customers and liaise with suppliers and origin offices. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Handle invoicing and administrative tasks as required.Skills & Experience required: Experience as a Freight Forwarder with a UK based Freight Forwarder Right to work in the UK (No Sponsorship available) Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Ability to prioritize workload and work well both independently and as part of a team.
