Are you an experienced forklift operator with a strong focus on safety and efficiency? Our client, a well-established logistics company, is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join their busy operation in Leeds. This full-time, permanent role offers great stability, a supportive team environment, and the chance to develop your career in logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operating counterbalance and reach forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and store goods.
  • Handling deliveries – checking quantities and condition, and completing all necessary documentation.
  • Supporting the organisation of stock to maximise warehouse space and efficiency.
  • Preparing goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timely turnaround.
  • Carrying out regular equipment checks and reporting any faults.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe working environment in line with company and H&S standards.
  • Liaising with drivers and subcontractors, providing clear instructions for loading/unloading.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Weekly alternating shifts: 7am-4pm and 9am-6pm (1-hour lunch)
  • Overtime available at 1.5x hourly rate
  • Occasional Saturday mornings (paid as overtime)

About You

  • Valid forklift licence (counterbalance/reach) – essential
  • Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse/logistics environment
  • Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and detail

  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office 365 experience desirable)
  • A proactive, flexible approach to teamwork and problem-solving
  • A first aid qualification (preferred, not essential)
