An established and highly respected logistics business is looking to appoint an experienced Container Transport Operations Manager to lead its busy transport operation based in Felixstowe. The Role
- Lead and manage a busy team of Transport Operators
- Oversee container transport planning from Felixstowe, London Gateway and Southampton
- Drive operational performance, fleet utilisation and revenue targets
- Build strong relationships with drivers, customers and internal departments
- Ensure day-to-day operational issues are resolved efficiently
- Oversee VBS bookings and minimise unnecessary costs
- Monitor KPIs, operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, company policies and industry regulations
- Occasional travel to other UK depots when required
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing a transport planning or operations team
- Strong background within container haulage and UK transport operations
- Working knowledge of TOPS, VBS and port systems
- Excellent understanding of UK geography, driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- A confident leader with outstanding communication and customer relationship skills
- Highly organised with excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Able to perform under pressure while maintaining exceptional service standards
