Position: European Road Freight Operator

Location: West Midlands / Birmingham Area

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE + Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30am – 5:00pm

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays

Overview

A leading independent freight forwarding and logistics provider is seeking an experienced European Road Freight Operator to join their growing operations team. This role involves managing shipments from start to finish across a variety of EU trade lanes in a fast‑paced and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end European road freight process for imports and exports
  • Coordinate FTL, LTL and groupage shipments across multiple EU trade lanes
  • Liaise with customers, overseas partners, hauliers and customs agents
  • Arrange collections, deliveries and transport bookings
  • Monitor shipments and proactively resolve operational issues
  • Complete operational documentation and customs‑related paperwork
  • Provide customers with regular shipment updates and excellent service levels
  • Ensure all jobs are completed accurately and profitably

Requirements

  • Previous experience within European road freight operations
  • Knowledge of import and export procedures
  • Experience handling full loads, part loads and groupage movements
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy freight forwarding environment
  • Customs knowledge would be advantageous

Package

  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday – 08:30am to 5:00pm
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
