EU Transport Planner - Newcastle - Up to £40,000

Our client is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced logistics environment, coordinating UK and European vehicle movements while ensuring customers receive a reliable and efficient service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning daily transport operations, managing drivers, monitoring live deliveries, and responding quickly to operational changes to ensure shipments are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and schedule UK and European van movements.

Coordinate daily fleet operations and driver allocations.

Monitor live transport movements and resolve operational issues as they arise.

Work closely with customers to plan and manage transport requirements.

Liaise with drivers, customers and transport partners to provide regular updates.

Ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain transport management systems with accurate operational information.

Deliver high levels of customer service while ensuring on-time performance.

Identify and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with company procedures and transport legislation.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience within Transport Planning, Freight Forwarding or Logistics.

Strong knowledge of UK and European road networks.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Ability to prioritise workloads and make effective decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and drivers.

Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
