Our client is currently seeking a Transport Planner to join their busy Transport Department based at London Gateway, working on a 4-on / 4-off shift pattern. In this role, the successful candidate will receive full training to support the Transport Operators and Planners with the day-to-day running of transport operations.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: 4 on, 4 off

Salary: Up to £33,000

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct driver briefings and debriefs in a professional and timely manner.
  • Carry out general administrative duties, including accurate filing and document management.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Transport Planning team.
  • Monitor and record daily trailer movements and availability.
  • Perform regular yard checks to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Proactively assist Transport Planners and Management by identifying and taking on additional tasks when needed.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both drivers and customer service teams.
  • Contribute positively to a busy, fast-paced team environment.
  • Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping at your workstation and throughout the workplace.
  • Uphold all Health & Safety procedures, reporting any issues, hazards, or near misses promptly.

Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience in a Transport, Logistics, or similar operational environment (Required).
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A friendly, team-oriented approach with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Willingness to work on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern.
