Our client, a well-established international freight forwarding and logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Road Freight Coordinator to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in European road freight who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for coordinating domestic and international road freight shipments, ensuring freight moves efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the end-to-end movement of domestic and international road freight shipments.
- Ensure the smooth and timely flow of freight from collection through to final delivery.
- Accurately enter shipment information into the company's operating systems.
- Track and trace shipments, providing proactive updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Arrange collections, deliveries and transport schedules to meet customer requirements.
- Produce accurate and timely customer and supplier invoices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, hauliers, suppliers and overseas partners.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries and operational requests, ensuring a high standard of service.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company procedures and transport regulations.
- Maintain customer-specific operating procedures and ensure internal SOPs remain up to date.
- Monitor operational performance against departmental KPIs and service level agreements.
- Work closely with internal departments and international offices to ensure seamless shipment coordination.
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption to customer deliveries.
Skills & Experience:
- 6 months to 1 year's experience within road freight forwarding, transport or logistics operations, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- Good understanding of European road freight operations, including groupage, full load and part load movements.
- Knowledge of road freight documentation and transport processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience using freight forwarding or transport management systems would be advantageous.
- Hazardous Goods (ADR) awareness or certification would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
