Our client, a freight forwarder, is looking for a Customs Clerk to join their growing team in Tilbury, UK.

As a Customs Clerk, you will be responsible for arranging various customs clearances for the company's key clients.

Hours: Monday to Friday (Apply online only)

Salary: £32,000

Job Responsibilities:

  • Arrange import clearances for key clients, processing promptly to ensure high-quality service.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors to obtain and provide necessary information for accurate and compliant customs clearances within HMRC guidelines.
  • Guide customers on importing goods into the UK, including commodity codes, customs procedures, and general import requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by being part of an AEO-accredited freight forwarder.
  • Raise invoices, including Duty and VAT invoices.

Job Specification:

  • Proven successful track record of at least two years working for a UK-based freight forwarder.
  • Experience in Ocean and Air freight is a must.
  • Previous experience with processing and completing entries using CDS is required.
  • Experience with CNS and Destin8 systems.
