Due to continued growth, we are now hiring an experienced customs clearance operator to join a specialist team based in Liverpool. Customs Operator role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Operator to join our logistics team. The Customs Operator will be responsible for handling custom clearances, documentation, and declarations for imports and exports. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of freight forwarding processes, including sea and air freight operations. Key Responsibilities; Manage customs clearance processes for imports and exports Ensure accurate and timely preparation of customs documentation and declarations Communicate effectively with customs authorities to resolve any issues or discrepancies Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to streamline customs operations Stay updated on customs regulations and compliance requirements Provide guidance and support to colleagues on customs-related matters Monitor the systems and process throughout the department & inform Customs Supervisor of any ideas for change Ensure all entries, imports and exports, are done within a timely manner – 24 hours of receipt of documents for imports and before the container has loaded for exports Report any issues to the Customs Supervisor if they cannot be dealt with by yourself or will take an extended amount of time to complete Ensure procedures are followed at all times Make sure company standards are followed, and the customer experience is a positive one.Experience required: Proven experience as a Customs Operator, Customs Clerk, or a similar role in the logistics industry In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and freight forwarding Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling customs documentation Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environmentBenefits: Competitive salary 25 days holiday + bank holidays Friends and family referral bonus Enhanced mat and pat leave Fund-assisted professional qualifications Cycle to work scheme Contractual sick pay Flexible lunch breaks Birthday off Long service sabbatical Company bonus scheme.WR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
