Our client are looking for an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator with responsibility for managing the end-to-end import process, ensuring the efficient movement of international freight while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end ocean import process, ensuring smooth and timely freight movement.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operational management system.
- Track and trace ocean import shipments, providing regular status updates and reporting.
- Monitor Ocean Import CFIT daily to ensure shipment visibility and operational accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute shipping notices and ensure documentation is sent promptly to overseas offices and customers.
- Process customer and supplier invoicing accurately and within required timescales.
- Liaise with customers to coordinate international shipments while delivering high levels of customer service.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with ocean carriers, hauliers, overseas agents, and other logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with all internal procedures, customer requirements, and government regulations.
- Maintain and update customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor departmental processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with company standards.
- Respond promptly to internal and external emails and communications with overseas offices, customers, and suppliers.
- Escalate operational issues or shipment delays to management when appropriate.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and compliance with company policies.
- Attend internal and external training sessions as required.
- Support the onboarding, training, and development of new colleagues.
- Provide guidance and technical support to colleagues on more complex import procedures.

- Strong knowledge of ocean import operations and international freight forwarding.
