Location: London Heathrow

Salary: £90,000 Basic + Car Allowance + Commission + Profit Share

Are you an experienced Commercial Sales Director with a strong track record within the freight forwarding industry? We're currently working with a highly established and successful logistics business to recruit a Commercial Sales Director for their Heathrow operation. This is a senior commercial opportunity for an ambitious freight forwarding professional who can combine strategic sales leadership with hands-on business development, helping drive the next phase of growth for an established multimodal freight forwarding operation.

What makes this opportunity particularly attractive is the company's employee-owned model, giving employees a genuine stake in the success of the business through an annual profit-share scheme.

The Opportunity

  • Reporting directly into the Managing Director and Group CEO, you'll take ownership of the commercial strategy and business development activity across the business.
  • You'll be responsible for identifying and winning new business, developing long-term customer relationships and working closely with the operational and senior leadership teams to maximise existing opportunities and drive sustainable growth.
  • This is a role where you'll have genuine influence and visibility within the wider group, with the opportunity to shape commercial strategy rather than simply manage a sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial sales strategy across the business.
  • Identify, target and win new business across the freight forwarding market.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key customers and prospects.
  • Drive revenue and margin growth across existing and new accounts.
  • Develop opportunities across multimodal freight forwarding, including sea, air and road.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to account development.
  • Work closely with operations and senior management to ensure successful implementation and retention of new business.
  • Identify new markets, sectors and customer opportunities to support continued growth.

About You

We're looking for an established commercial professional with a strong multi-modal freight forwarding background and a proven career history in a senior sales or business development capacity.

What's in It for You?

£90,000 Basic Salary + Car Allowance

Alongside the strong basic salary and car allowance, the commission structure provides significant earning potential:

  • 20% commission on new business generated.
  • 5% lifetime commission on the account, providing an ongoing financial reward as your customers continue to trade.

Employee-Owned Business & Profit Share

One of the biggest attractions of this opportunity is the employee-owned model. Employees benefit directly from the success of the wider business through an annual profit-share scheme, which typically provides around £6,000 per year. Historically, around £3,700 of this has been paid as a tax-free dividend, subject to the applicable employee ownership and tax rules at the time. This means you're not simply joining a business - you have a genuine financial interest in its continued success.
