Our client, a well-established and expanding freight forwarder, is seeking an experienced Import Freight Operator to join their growing team in Witham. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a solid background in freight forwarding to become part of a busy and supportive Import LCL department.

Package & Hours
- Salary: Β£35,000 - Β£40,000 (depending on experience)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm (08:00am - 05:00pm also an option)
- Holidays: 20 days annual leave + bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage import shipments across sea, air, and road freight.
- Liaise effectively with overseas offices, agents, and partners to ensure smooth shipment handling.
- Manage end-to-end shipment files, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout.
- Raise sales and purchase invoices and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Update and manage client bookings, rates, and shipment details within shared systems.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Resolve queries and complaints promptly and professionally, in line with company policy.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in import freight forwarding for a UK based forwarder, experience in LCL operations.
- Strong understanding of international shipping documentation and procedures.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Confident using freight management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
