Our client is an established freight forwarding business specialising in road freight across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Road Freight Operator to their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience within road freight who enjoys a busy operational role and is confident dealing with customers, hauliers and overseas partners.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing road freight shipments from booking through to delivery, ensuring everything runs smoothly and customers are kept fully updated throughout the process. Your responsibilities will include:
- Arranging and coordinating UK and European road freight shipments
- Booking transport with hauliers and subcontractors
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and overseas partners
- Preparing and checking relevant shipping and customs documentation
- Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates
- Obtaining and negotiating transport rates where required
- Tracking deliveries and dealing with any issues or delays
- Updating internal systems and maintaining accurate shipment records
- Ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and within agreed deadlines
- Preparing and providing competitive freight quotations and pricing for customers
- Building strong working relationships with customers and transport partners
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within road freight operations. We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised and able to manage multiple shipments at once
- Confident communicating with customers and suppliers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced freight environment
- Commercially aware with good attention to detail
- Able to work independently as well as part of a wider team
- Experienced with UK and/or European road freight for UK based freight forwarder
- Familiar with freight forwarding documentation and processes
