We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established international freight forwarding business based in Bradford (BD4). Due to continued development and structural change, they are looking to appoint an experienced EU Road Freight Manager to lead and develop a high-performing operational team.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for managing German, French, and European forwarding markets, while ensuring operational excellence, partner performance, and team development.
The Role- Lead and manage a team of 6-8 EU Road Freight Operators
- Oversee daily operational output, ensuring workflows run efficiently and optimally
- Manage German, French, and European forwarding lanes
- Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, and support
- Ensure strong relationships with core European partners and carriers
- Drive service levels, compliance, and customer satisfaction
- Act as the main escalation point for operational and service-related issues
- Proven experience in EU Road Freight operations (German & French markets essential)
- Previous experience managing or supervising a freight forwarding team
- Strong understanding of European road freight networks and partners
- Confident managing performance, workloads, and operational KPIs
- Commercially and operationally minded with a solutions-focused approach
- Comfortable working in a fully on-site role
- Salary of £40,000 - £45,000
