We're working with a well-established international freight forwarding business that's looking to strengthen its European Road Freight team with the appointment of an experienced Road Freight Operator. The Role
You'll be responsible for coordinating European road freight movements across import and export operations, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently while delivering a high level of customer service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing European road freight shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Liaising with customers, hauliers, overseas agents and transport partners
- Obtaining competitive rates and arranging transport solutions
- Producing and checking freight documentation
- Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving any delays or issues
- Providing customers with regular shipment updates
- Handling customs-related documentation where required
- Processing quotations, invoicing and maintaining accurate operational records
- Ensuring all work complies with company procedures and relevant transport regulations
About You
We're looking for someone who already has experience within European road freight forwarding and enjoys working in a busy operational environment. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in European Road Freight Operations
- Knowledge of import and export procedures
- Experience arranging groupage, part loads and full loads
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments
- A proactive approach and good problem-solving ability
- Confidence using freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office
