Location: Southampton, UK

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (DOE)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm

My client is looking for a Graduate Chemist to join their team based in Southampton. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or equivalent and be keen to start their career in the Waste Management Industry. You will be responsible for the safe operation of the site, waste handling, and liaising with site management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with site permits and waste acceptance regulations.
  • Oversee safe operation of the site and waste handling.
  • Monitor quality and compliance and submit non-conformance reports and invoices on time.
  • Ensure all waste that are processed/repacked have an associated paperwork trail so they can be traced from cradle to grave.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field.
  • Previous experience as a Site Chemist, Lab Analyst, or similar is desirable.
  • Experience in the Waste Management industry is desirable, but not essential.
  • Forklift Licence desirable, but not essential.
  • Must have indefinite leave to remain in the UK - unfortunately no visa sponsorship can be offered for this position.
