A leading independent freight forwarding and logistics provider is currently seeking an experienced European Road Freight Operator to join their growing operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong European road freight experience who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish across a variety of EU trade lanes.
Working within a fast-paced and supportive environment, you will take ownership of both import and export movements, coordinating full load, part load and groupage shipments across Europe.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the end-to-end European road freight process for imports and exports
- Coordinating FTL, LTL and groupage shipments across multiple EU trade lanes
- Liaising with customers, overseas partners, hauliers and customs agents
- Arranging collections, deliveries and transport bookings
- Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving operational issues
- Completing operational documentation and customs-related paperwork
- Providing customers with regular shipment updates and excellent service levels
- Ensuring all jobs are completed accurately and profitably
- Previous experience within European road freight operations
- Knowledge of import and export procedures
- Experience handling full loads, part loads and groupage movements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a busy freight forwarding environment
- Customs knowledge would be advantageous
- Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday - 08:30am to 5:00pm
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
