Start Your Career in Global Logistics
Looking to kick‑start your career in a fast‑paced, international industry? We're offering an exciting opportunity to join a growing freight forwarding group with multiple UK offices and a strong global presence across air, sea, and road transport. The Woodford‑based team specialises in the recyclables sector - a niche, high‑demand market with real complexity and variety. As the business continues to expand into new product areas, this is a great time to join and build your career within a forward‑thinking, ambitious organisation.
The Opportunity
You'll be part of a core operations team, supporting the movement of goods across international markets while learning from experienced professionals. This is a genuine entry‑level role with clear progression. You'll gain hands‑on experience from day one, starting with the fundamentals and developing into a more autonomous role as your skills grow. The team is also undergoing process improvements and operational development, so we're looking for someone with curiosity, initiative, and a desire to contribute - not just follow instructions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and checking shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists)
- Supporting container bookings with shipping lines and hauliers
- Monitoring shipment schedules, deadlines, and deliveries
- Coordinating with suppliers, depots, and customers
- Communicating with clients and partners to provide updates and resolve queries
- Supporting the team in identifying issues and improving processes
What We're Looking For
- A degree (2:1 or above) in any discipline or logistics operational experience - 1 year
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage priorities
- A genuine interest in logistics and a clear motivation for applying
- A proactive mindset - someone who wants to understand why, not just follow processes
- A positive, team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to learn
- No prior logistics experience required - full training provided.
What You'll Get
- £24,000 starting salary
- 3% pension contribution
- 20 days holiday (rising to 25 after 3 years)
- Structured, hands‑on training and development
- Clear progression opportunities within a growing organisation
- A supportive, collaborative team environment
