The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established heavy haulage business based in Warwickshire, looking to appoint an experienced LGV Driver Assessor to support their growing operation. This is a key role focused on maintaining high driving standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting driver development across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out driver assessments, inductions, and ongoing performance reviews
  • Monitor driving standards and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Deliver training, coaching, and toolbox talks to drivers
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing feedback and corrective action
  • Support with driver CPC training and development plans
  • Work closely with the transport team to promote a strong safety culture
  • Maintain accurate training and assessment records

Requirements

  • Valid, in-date HGV (LGV) licence
  • Proven experience in a Driver Assessor or similar role within a haulage environment
  • Strong knowledge of driver regulations, compliance, and road safety standards
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with drivers and operational teams
  • CPC qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Train the Trainer qualification (desirable)
  • Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) (desirable)
