Overview

Transport Operator – Glasgow • Salary £30,000+ DOE • Full-Time, Permanent

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee UK road transport movements
• Liaise with drivers, subcontractors, and customers daily
• Source and manage subcontractor relationships
• Monitor transport performance and resolve operational issues
• Ensure full compliance with UK transport regulations
• Use TMS and internal systems to keep accurate records
• Negotiate haulage rates and manage costs efficiently

Requirements

• Experience in UK road haulage operations
• Proven experience working with subcontractors
• Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• Confident using IT systems and transport management software (TMS)
