We're working with a well-established UK industrial refrigeration contractor looking to appoint a Lead Design / Proposal Engineer. This is a senior technical role focused on owning the design and proposal process for industrial refrigeration projects, primarily ammonia and COâ‚‚ systems.
You'll take responsibility from initial enquiry and tender review through to submission, then progress into full system design and technical oversight once projects are secured.
Key Responsibilities- Lead technical input for tenders and enquiries, defining scope, design approach and costings.
- Produce technical proposals, outline designs and specifications for industrial refrigeration systems.
- Act as the technical point of contact during the sales phase, supporting client and consultant discussions.
- Following order placement, develop detailed system designs including calculations, layouts and equipment selection.
- Provide technical support through the construction and commissioning phases.
- Ensure designs are compliant with relevant standards, regulations and best practice.
- Support and guide other engineers where required.
- Strong background in industrial refrigeration design (ammonia and COâ‚‚ essential).
- Experience producing technical proposals and supporting the full bid cycle.
- Sound knowledge of refrigeration system design, controls and compliance.
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance technical detail and cost.
