My client is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor with Electrical experience to join their growing team based in Trim, Co. Meath, with involvement across multiple live projects across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive contractor delivering projects across high-growth sectors including pharmaceuticals, semi-conductor, food & beverage, data centres, and power transmission & distribution.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from contract review through to final account settlement, working closely with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
The Role
- Review and interpret project contract documentation
- Manage supplier and subcontractor enquiries and evaluations
- Prepare accurate, competitive, and cost-effective valuations
- Issue and manage contract documentation across the supply chain
- Assess scope changes and price variations
- Prepare and negotiate monthly progress claims
- Maintain accurate records of claims, certificates, and retentions
- Commercial and contractual management of subcontractor accounts
- Prepare monthly commercial reports
- Support management with commercial analysis, risks, and issue reporting
- Manage and forecast project cash flow
- Carry out all other duties associated with the role
Requirements
- Relevant third-level qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a QS role with electrical experience
- Strong understanding of construction commercial management
- Excellent knowledge of work contracts and contract administration
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Teams, and MS Projects
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Electrical Tenders would be a strong advantage
