A specialist HVAC manufacturer is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to support its next phase of growth. The company designs and manufactures bespoke HVAC systems for complex environments, supplying projects across the defence, marine, offshore and energy sectors.
The organisation is expanding its commercial capability and looking for a commercially driven BDM to help increase enquiry levels, strengthen key client relationships and identify new market opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical sales background in HVAC, refrigeration or AHUs who enjoys working in a consultative, solutions-based environment.
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving new business and supporting the company’s growth strategy across specialist engineering markets.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing new business opportunities across defence, marine, offshore and energy sectors
- Identifying and engaging with consultants, EPC contractors, shipyards and end users
- Managing and developing relationships with existing clients to maximise repeat business
- Generating and qualifying new project enquiries
- Working closely with the engineering and proposals teams to develop technical solutions
- Representing the company at industry events and networking opportunities
- Monitoring market trends and identifying emerging sectors such as offshore wind and carbon capture
The successful candidate will have experience selling technical or engineered products and be comfortable working within complex project environments.
Key requirements include:
- Experience in business development, technical sales or account management
- Background within HVAC, refrigeration, building services, or engineered equipment
- Strong ability to build relationships with consultants, contractors and end users
- Commercially driven with a proactive approach to generating opportunities
- Comfortable working with technical engineering teams and complex project proposals
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience within offshore, marine, defence, oil & gas or energy sectors would be advantageous
Package includes:
- £50,000 – £60,000 - flexible for the right candidate
- Commission structure linked to project value
