We are now looking for a Financial Controller to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 8am 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The Role

As a Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of our finance function, delivering accurate and commercially meaningful financial information to support business growth and decision-making. Specifically, you will manage day-to-day finance operations using Xero, overseeing bookkeeping, payroll and credit control while ensuring accurate financial data and robust accounting processes. You will produce monthly management accounts, maintain balance sheet integrity, manage reconciliations and ensure financial reporting accurately reflects the operational performance of the business. Alongside this, you will strengthen financial systems and controls, implementing scalable processes, and supporting project teams with financial oversight to protect profitability and improve commercial performance.

Additionally, you will:

  • Oversee project costing and monitor margins
  • Manage rolling cash-flow forecasts and maintain visibility of debtors, creditors and work-in-progress (WIP)
  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting to support business planning
  • Develop and monitor KPIs aligned with operational and commercial performance
  • Act as the primary liaison with external accountants, supporting year-end accounts and tax processes
  • Ensure compliance with VAT requirements and relevant statutory reporting obligations

About You

To be considered as our Financial Controller, you will need:

  • To be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), part-qualified and actively progressing towards qualification, or qualified by experience in a similar finance leadership role
  • Experience working as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
  • Experience with bookkeeping, payroll and credit control
  • Experience using Xero accounting software
  • Experience with financial forecasting and modelling to support business growth
  • A strong understanding of project accounting, WIP and cost control
