My client is looking for a hands-on Electrical & Mechanical Service Engineer to join a skilled in-house engineering team. This is a varied workshop-based role focused on the inspection, servicing, and repair of pumps and equipment.

You will carry out detailed inspections, follow technical procedures and work instructions, and complete electro-mechanical repairs to ensure equipment is returned to full working order. The role also involves maintaining strong customer relationships and providing technical updates where required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, service, and repair pumping equipment and related systems
  • Carry out electro-mechanical fault finding and repairs
  • Follow strict procedures and quality standards in all work undertaken
  • Complete service reports and ensure accurate record keeping (GRNs, tracking, disposal processes)
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on technical matters
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop environment
  • Occasional UK site visits (company van provided)

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum Level 3 engineering/technical qualification
  • At least 3 years' experience in a hands-on workshop/service engineering role
  • C&G 2391 Test & Inspection
  • Electrically competent with strong fault-finding ability
  • Practical understanding of motors, pumps, or rotating equipment (preferred but not essential)
  • Comfortable working in a dirty, heavy-duty engineering environment
  • Computer literate (service reports and documentation required)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
