The Role
We are seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to provide expert support to customers and the external sales team on technical matters. This varied and rewarding role will involve working with a broad range of products, with a particular focus on pneumatic automation and thermo temperature control systems.
You\'ll play a key role in supporting sales growth through training, technical problem-solving, and proactive promotion of both new and existing products.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing technical support to customers and colleagues via phone and email
Processing requests for special product variations
Analysing and reporting on customer product returns
Supporting new product development proposals
Conducting market and competitor analysis
Assisting the sales team with customer visits and application development
Managing product lifecycle, including training, introductions, and product replacements
The Person
We\'re looking for a methodical and solutions-focused engineer who enjoys tackling challenges and communicating technical information with clarity.
Essential skills and experience:
Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
Experience in an engineering environment, with hands-on diagnostic/testing skills
Strong communication skills (telephone, email, presentations, webinars)
Organised, logical, and able to manage multiple projects effectively
Confident in presenting and explaining technical subjects
Desirable experience:
Automation systems or system design knowledge
Previous experience in technical sales support or applications engineering
