We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Technician to join a well established engineering business. This role would suit a hands on engineer with strong experience across mechanical systems and a working knowledge of basic electrics.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working with gearboxes, mechanical drives, engines, hydraulic systems, and lifting equipment. You will be responsible for maintenance, fault-finding, repair, and support of mechanical equipment, working to high safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain, repair, and fault-find on gearboxes, mechanical drives, engines, and hydraulic systems
- Inspect and service lifting equipment in line with safety standards
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Perform basic electrical fault-finding and component replacement
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
- Ensure all work is completed safely and accurately, with documentation completed as required
Skills and Experience:
- Experience with gearboxes, mechanical drives, and engines
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Experience inspecting and maintaining lifting equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge (motors, wiring, fault finding)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
