We are looking for a skilled Control Systems Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support control systems for industrial and process-based applications. The role will involve working across the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to commissioning and ongoing system support.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain control systems for industrial automation projects
- Produce and modify PLC, HMI, and SCADA software in line with project requirements
- Develop functional design specifications, control philosophies, and documentation
- Configure and integrate instrumentation, sensors, drives, and field devices
- Carry out system testing, FAT and SAT activities, and support commissioning on site
- Diagnose and resolve control system faults, providing technical support to operations
- Ensure all control systems comply with relevant safety standards, legislation, and best practices
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and process engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to support project delivery
Skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a Control Systems Engineer within an industrial or automation environment
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi)
- Experience with HMI and SCADA systems (WinCC, FactoryTalk)
- Understanding of Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience with variable speed drives, motion control, and servo systems
