A leading engineering technology business is looking for an Applications Engineer to join its growing technical team, supporting a portfolio of advanced 3D scanning, additive manufacturing and digital manufacturing technologies. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role combining applications engineering, technical support, product demonstrations, training and equipment installation.
The Role
- Install, support and troubleshoot 3D scanning and additive manufacturing systems
- Deliver technical demonstrations, training and workshops to customers
- Support sales teams with technical advice during pre-sales activities
- Provide ongoing applications support to existing customers
- Assist with servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Produce customer sample parts and support manufacturing projects
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD data, tolerances and technical specifications
- Travel to customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas
Requirements
- Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design or similar
- Good working knowledge of CAD software
- Experience within manufacturing, mechanical engineering, product development or technical support
- Confident communicating and presenting technical information to customers
- Hands-on problem-solving ability and strong customer focus
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with 3D scanning, additive manufacturing, metrology, CNC machining, injection moulding or prototyping would be highly advantageous.
