A specialist compliance and environmental services provider is seeking an experienced Fire Stopping Technician to join their growing team. This is a newly created position within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of fire stopping activities and play a key role in ensuring compliance with passive fire protection regulations across a variety of client sites.
This role will involve the installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire-stopping systems, supporting the integrity and compliance of fire damper installations across commercial and public sector environments.
Key Responsibilities- Install fire-stopping materials including fire-rated sealants, boards, coatings, and penetration sealing systems to walls and floors.
- Inspect and assess existing fire-stopping systems to ensure compliance with building regulations and fire safety standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, fire safety reports, and specifications.
- Carry out remedial works to rectify non-compliant installations.
- Maintain accurate job documentation including photographic evidence and compliance records.
- Work closely with other technicians to ensure efficient project delivery across sites.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and correct use of PPE.
- Provide recommendations for improvements to fire protection systems where required.
- Participate in ongoing training and development, with opportunities to support internal technician training.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in fire stopping or passive fire protection.
- Experience installing systems including batt, mastic, fire barriers and compounds.
- NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with products from manufacturers such as FSi, Rockwool, Firefly, or Nullifire.
- Ability to work at height and within confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work from technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- ASFP Level 2 or Level 3 in Fire Stopping.
- IPAF, PASMA, or SSSTS certifications.
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience.
