Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on experience

My client is a well-established precision engineering business based in Bristol, supplying high-quality components into demanding industries where accuracy and quality are critical. They are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team, working within a busy manufacturing environment and ensuring components meet the required drawings, specifications and quality standards.

The role will involve inspecting precision-machined components throughout the manufacturing process, carrying out final inspection and completing the necessary quality documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision-engineered components
  • Inspecting components against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
  • Using a range of conventional inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges and height gauges
  • Using more advanced inspection equipment where required
  • Identifying and reporting non-conforming parts
  • Completing inspection reports and maintaining accurate quality records
  • Supporting FAIR and other quality documentation
  • Working closely with CNC machinists and the wider production team to resolve quality issues
  • Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standards and tolerances
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing and inspection processes

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components
  • Competent using a range of manual inspection equipment
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection
  • Ability to identify issues and work with production teams to resolve them
  • Good understanding of quality procedures and documentation
  • Experience within aerospace, defence or another high-precision manufacturing environment would be advantageous
