Hours: 8am to 4:30pm

Our client is currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant to join a busy and fast-paced warehouse team within a well-established manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous stores, warehouse or materials handling experience who is looking to join a stable business offering full training, ongoing development and genuine opportunities for progression.

As a Stores Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse and the efficient movement and storage of materials and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods and materials
  • Picking and preparing materials and products for production or dispatch
  • Maintaining accurate stock records
  • Using WMS systems and handheld scanning equipment
  • Moving and handling materials safely around the warehouse
  • Supporting the wider warehouse and manufacturing teams as required
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Following company procedures and health & safety requirements

This can be a physically demanding role, involving the handling and movement of the types of products manufactured on site, so candidates should be comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment.

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or materials handling role
  • Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Good organisational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Experience using WMS systems and handheld scanners - desirable
  • A positive, flexible and team-focused approach
  • Good awareness of health & safety within a warehouse environment

Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck certification is highly desirable, and candidates holding current certificates will be given preference.
