A growing power generation business is looking for an experienced Generator Service Engineer to join its field service team across Northern Ireland. This is a hands-on field role covering the servicing, fault finding, repair, and testing of diesel generators across a wide range of engine brands and generator sizes.

The Role:

  • Carrying out generator servicing, including oil/filter changes and fluid sampling
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Conducting load bank testing on customer generator units
  • Working on engines from small kVA units through to large-scale generator systems
  • Repairing components including fuel pumps, starter motors, cooling systems, battery chargers, heaters, cables, and control equipment
  • Interrogating control systems such as DSE, ComAp, and DEIF
  • Assisting with engine rebuilds, top-end overhauls, control panel upgrades, and retrofits
  • Liaising professionally with customers on-site

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within generator servicing or the power generation industry
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
  • Experience working on diesel engines and generator systems
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Generator brand-specific training
  • Control systems training
  • Electrical qualifications, such as City & Guilds or 17th/18th Edition
